About Jack

Jack is currently enrolled within the first batch of the new MSc Global Health course at the University of Copenhagen. He graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) with a BSc (Hons) Human Biology with Sociology and Psychology in 2013. During his studies he was a volunteer for the National Health Service Greater Glasgow & Clyde as a COPD assistant for a period of 2 years in Easterhouse, Glasgow. Jack was also the President of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) GCU and the Social Erasmus Coordinator for ESN UK, where he won many collective and personal accolades.

So far Jack has had a busy 2014 with a 5 week field trip in Tanzania, culminating the first year of the MSc course. Here he was able to apply a lot his newly gained knowledge into a global perspective. Furthermore his interest in Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) was enhanced with this enriching and unique insight into a country undergoing epidemiological transition.

Jack's next travels will see him back in Copenhagen undertaking elective modules for the next months. He looks forward to expanding his knowledge on chronic NCDs to further provide a holistic approach to tackling these global health challenges. Jack also hopes to conduct some research in the new year to use for his Master thesis project and further enhance his credentials to obtain a PhD in this area in 2015.

Jack is an editor for the MSc Global Health Blog and also has an active Linked In Profile and Twitter Account.
